Serial bomb blasts BCL demands trial of BNP, Jamaat men

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Aug 18: Leaders and activists of
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Rajshahi University (RU) unit, Sunday demanded trial of accused BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists who were involved in the serial bomb blasts over the country on August 17, 2005.
The BCL men also said BNP-led four-party alliance wanted toturn the country a militant state through bomb blast.
"But they could not materialise their dream as Sheikh Hasina-led Bangladesh Awami League foiled their all conspiracies," they said.
The BCL activists raised their voice from a human chain programme in front of the RU main entrance gate Sunday.
BCL central member Firoz Sarkar, university unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana, vice president Farhana Sarkar, organising secretary Utpal Kumar, joint secretary Shariful Islam and assistant secretary Golam Kibria spoke while general secretary
Towhid-Al-Tuhin conducted the human chain programme.
