Seven held over attack on students in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, Aug 17 (UNB): Police arrested seven people from separate places on Monday in connection with Sunday's attack on some school students allegedly by some Jubo League men over toll.

The arrestees are Mojammel Haq, a student of Palkhal Degree College, Alauddin (21), Md Sabuj (19), Ajiullah (32), Md Imran Hossain, Monir and Liton.

Additional SP Md Ashrafuzzaman said prime accused Monir and Liton were arrested from a launch at Chandpur ghat while fleeing to Dhaka.

Meanwhile, Dulal Chandra Sarker, headmaster of Bhuiyanra High School, filed a case against eight named and 20 unnamed people in connection with the incident early Monday, said officer-in-charge (OC) of Kachua thana Ibrahim Khalil.

Some 16 students of a high school were injured in an attack allegedly by some local Jubo League men at Bhuiyanra in Kachua upazila on Sunday.
