Seven procurement proposals get cabinet committee's nod

The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase approved on Wednesday seven procurement proposals, including one for supplying medicines to community clinics across the country, reports UNB.
State-owned Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL) won the contract under direct procurement method (DPM) to supply some 27 items of medicines at a cost of Tk 1.19 billion to country's 13,500 community clinics. The Cabinet committee approved a proposal of the Power Division to award contract for rehabilitation works of the Unit-1 and Unit-2 of Karnaphuli Hydro Power Plant at a cost of Tk 3.97 billion.
Five more proposals received the nod of the committee to award contract for procurement of goods and services for different projects on gas exploration and pipeline construction in the energy sector under Speedy Enhancement of Power and Energy Supply (Special) Act.
