BARISAL, June 30 (UNB): A Shechchasebok League leader and one of his associates were arrested from Rupatali of the city Saturday.
One pipe gun and a motor bike were also seized from the possession of the arrested Azizur Rahman Shahin, convener of Barisal city Shechchasebok League, and his associate Hanif Howladar.
Acting on a tip-off, members of RAB-8 raided the Rupatali grid sub-station area at about 1.0 pm.
Sensing danger, Shahin and Hanif tried to flee away on a motorcycle dashing the car of RAB but the law enforcers arrested them after a hot chase.
RAB said both the arrested were listed criminals and extortionists.
