Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said valiant freedom fighter Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal was an honest, brave and efficient organizer, reports BSS.
"Apart from politics, Sheikh Kamal has contributed to the sports and cultural arena. Sheikh Kamal is widely known as a good and efficient organizer. Abahani Krira Chakra is Sheikh Kamal's self-made organization," he said.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and doa mahfil marking the 73rd birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at Sultana Kamal Mohila Krira Complex in the city, said a press release.
Tipu said, "I had the privilege of receiving training in the same camp with Sheikh Kamal during the Liberation War. He was an efficient army officer. After the independence of the country, I saw his honesty and bravery closely."
Senior Secretary of the Commerce Ministry Tapan Kanti Gosh presided over the meeting while Chairman (Secretary) of the Bangladesh Tariff Commission (BTC) Mahfuza Akter and Bangladesh Competition Commission Chairman Md Mofizul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion.
