Sheikh Selim taken on two-day fresh remand

The Metropolitan Magistrate Court has allowed another two days remand for Awami League (AL) presidium member and former minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim in an extortion case.
Investigating Officer (IO) produced him before the court Monday and sought for seven days' remand for further interrogation. Magistrate Shirin Akter granted two days, reports UNB.
Selim was accused of Tk 80 million extortion, in which AL President Sheikh Hasina is a co-accused.
He has reportedly admitted of corruption and extortion during the 1996-2001 AL rule.
