SYLHET, Mar 18 (UNB): The admission tests for the first year Honours courses for 2013-14 academic session of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will be held as per the schedule as Islami Chhatra Shibir has withdrawn its agitation programme.
Shibir, the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, on Tuesday called off its hartal for Thursday and Friday in Sylhet division and an indefinite strike at SUST following a negotiation with the university administration.
"As the administration has assured us of meeting our demands, including the withdrawal of the expulsion against our 14 leaders and activists, we've called off the programmes considering the sufferings of 50,000 admission seekers," Shibir city unit press secretary Asaduzzaman Bablu said in the afternoon.
