Shibir leader held at RU

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, May 11: Plainclothes      members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested yesterday a leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) from the Kazla gate area of the Rajshahi University (RU).

The arrestee was identified as Muhubbul Ashik, a fourth year student of Islamic History and Culture department and a hall unit leader of ICS.

Shibir sources claimed that a team of plainclothes RAB members arrested their fellow Ashik in front of the Shahidullah arts building.

Major Shafiqul Islam, deputy captain of RAB-5, said that Ashik was accused of  the attack on two Chhatra League leaders of RU unit on April 28. He was taken to the RAB-5 office for interrogation.
