Singer Shafin to run DNCC mayoral race

Popular Band singer Shafin Ahmed will contest in the by-polls to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral post, report agencies.

Chairman of newly-formed Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Bobby Hajjaj, on Tuesday announced singer Shafin's name as candidate at a press conference at the National Press Club in the city.

Sharing Shafin's candidature, Boby Hajjaj in his facebook page wrote, "We hope to see our dreams for Dhaka city realised. Shafin Ahmed shall be a great representative of the people."

NDM is not registered with the Election Commission yet though the party has applied for registration.
