Six Ansar men on remand over attack on students

A Dhaka court have placed six members of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP on a two-day remand in a case lodged with the capital's Shahbagh Police Station for carrying out attack on students, laying siege to the secretariat and vandalising it, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shakil Ahammed passed the order on Tuesday, placing Shariful Islam, Ahsan Habib, Moniruzzaman, Hasibur Rahman, Nasir Miah and Shafikul Islam on two-day remand each.

Sub-inspector Shamim Mir of Shahbagh Police Station filed the case against 208 Ansar members on August 26. Around 3,000 more unnamed Ansar men were also accused in the case.
