Six including Jamaat ameer on remand


A court has placed six people including Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Md Taher, 65, on a five-day remand in a case lodged for obstructing police in their duties and causing damage to properties, reports BSS.
The other remanded accused are - Dr Md Saleh Uddin Sayeed (59), Kamrul Ahsan Ripon (50), Md Mobarak Hossain (73), Mohammad Ali (45), and Mehedi Hasan (22).
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order on Wednesday as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place them on remand.
