Six men of AL, affiliates held

Detective branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained six leaders and activists of banned Awami League (AL) and its affiliated bodies during raids in different areas the capital over the last 24 hours (from 6:00 Thursday to 6:00 am Friday).

The arrestees are: organising secretary of Bangabandhu Awami Sangskritik Jote of 2 no.Parulia union under Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district Md Shafiqul Islam Shawan( 48),assistant general secretary of Awami League of ward no. 35 of Dhaka city Sheikh Kabir Uddin (63), vice-president of Moralganj upazila unit , Bagerhat district AL Md Russel Hawlader (43),joint general secretary of ward no. 25, Dhaka city, Chhatra League Rashedul Hossain alias Bulbul (21),

deputy/ vice secretary of religious affairs of central executive sangsad of Bangladesh Chhatra League Moniruzzaman alias Babu (38) and joint general secretary of Ashasuni upazila unit , Satkhira district, of AL Md Shah Newaz.

Deputy Police Commissioner ( Media and Public Relations) of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that legal action was taken against them.
