SL leader, brother hacked to death

NAOGAON, Nov 17 (UNB) : A local Swechchhasebak League (SL) leader and his younger brother were hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at

Durgapur in Sadar Upazila early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ohidur Islam, 42, vice-president of Sadar Upazila unit of the volunteer front of ruling Awami League and his brother Shahin Islam, 32, sons of late Majibar Rahman of Chakprachi village of the same upazila.

Samir Kumar Sutradhar, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Sadar Model Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on Ohidur and Shahin when they were returning home on foot around 12:30 am.  Later, the criminals indiscriminately hacked both the brothers with sharp weapons, leaving them dead on the spot.
