Leaders and activists of Sramik League (SL) warned on Monday that they will take position inside the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office if she does not call off the ongoing transport blockade and hartal, report agencies.
They issued the warning after staging an hour-long demonstration near the BNP chief's office where she has been staying since January 3.
"We're telling Khaleda Zia still there's time, please withdraw the blockade and hartal programmes. If you don't do so, Sramik League activists will take position inside your office and you won't be able to resist them then," said SL general secretary Sirajul Islam.
He also said the central committee will also work out their next course of action very soon to force Khaleda to call off her party-led 20-party's ongoing action programme, which is causing havoc on the workers' livelihood.
SL activists chanted various slogans there against hartal, blockade and violence.
Addressing the programme, the SL leaders accused Khaleda of carrying out violent programmes, and demanded her arrest.
After staging the demonstrations, the Sramik League men left the area around 12:50pm.
Leaders and workers of JSL brought out a big protest march from Gulshan-2 square at noon and tried to lay a siege around BNP chairperson's Gulshan office but police intercepted the marchers on the entrance of Road-86 where they staged a sit-in demonstration demanding immediate withdrawal of BNP-Jamaat's anti-people programmes.
