Broadcasting of Somoy TV, a private sector television channel, will remain suspended until further decision of the court.
The chamber judge of the Appellate Division on Wednesday did not pass any order on an appeal petition, seeking stay on a High Court (HC) order that asked the authorities concerned to suspend broadcasting of Somoy TV for the next seven days.
The chamber judge, Justice Ashfaqul Islam, sent the item to the regular Appellate Division bench for hearing on Sunday.
On Monday, the HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar asked the authorities to suspend the broadcasting of Somoy TV for one week, following a writ petition.
