Speaker hands PM's condolence message to Qatar Emir

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on Tuesday handed over Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's message of condolence to Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani following the death of his father and former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, report agencies.
The condolence message was delivered during an official state condolence reception held at Lusail Emiri Palace on July 14.
On behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, the Speaker conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the Emir and the bereaved members of the Qatari royal family and prayed for the eternal peace of the late former Emir.
The Speaker paid tribute to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, recalling his visionary leadership and describing him as the architect of modern Qatar. He also acknowledged the late leader's significant contribution to strengthening the longstanding brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Qatar.
