Speaker returns home from Sri Lanka

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury returned home after attending a SAARC conference in Sri Lanka on Friday, reports BSS.
The 8th conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on October 4-6, said a parliamentary press release..
She led a six-member Bangladesh parliamentary delegation.
The team members were Whip Mohammad Shahiduzzaman Sarker, Begum Sagupta Yasmin, Talukder M Younus, Syeda Sayera Mohsin and Senior Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Abdur Rab Hawlader.
During the visit, Dr Shirin Sharmin joined a special session of the Sri Lankan Parliament marking its 70th founding anniversary.
Senior officials of the Jatiya Sangsad received Dr Shirin Sharmin on her arrival at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, it also said.
