Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Abida Islam has laid emphasis on understanding the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his historic speech of 7th March and urged all to spread it worldwide, reports UNB.
"It is our responsibility to understand the leadership of Bangabandhu," she said while addressing a programme in Seoul on Sunday.
During the Liberation War in 1971, the ambassador said, the 7th March speech of Bangabandhu united the entire Bangalee nation and encouraged the freedom fighters.
At Bangabandhu's call, the envoy said, 30 lakh people made supreme sacrifice to free their motherland, which is rare in the world history.
She also said Unesco has not only recognised the historic speech as a part of Bengali heritage, but also as a valuable asset of the entire humanity.
