Sramik Dal secy gen sent to jail

A Dhaka court Sunday ordered the Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal secretary general Zafrul Hasan to jail after he surrendered in a case involving concealment of wealth, reports bdnews24.com.
Senior special judge AMM Bashirullah gave the order after rejecting Zafrul's bail petition.
The judge also ordered the case be sent for trial to the Special Judge's Court-5, and set April 6 for charge framing.
The court upheld the bail order of Zafrul's wife Shefali Hassan.
The couple, on July 16, 2007, submitted a wealth statement of Tk 12.5 million (1.25 crore) to the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC). But the ACC found a discrepancy of Tk 5.1 million (51 lakh) beyond known sources of income.
Ex-BNP MP Shahidul Islam surrenders
Meanwhile, former BNP MP for Kushtia-2 Shahidul Islam also surrendered to the same court Sunday in an illegal wealth case.
The court set Monday for his bail hearing.
