State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Qamrul Islam Thursday said the aggrieved persons have filed criminal cases at different places in a scattered way against those who were involved in various crimes like killing, plundering, rape and setting fire to properties, reports BSS.
"The section of the cases lodged in a scattered way is separate from the initiatives taken by the state to try the war criminals under the International Crimes (tribunal) Act 1973," he told a regular press briefing at his ministry here.
"So, it will not be conflicting between the state initiatives for trial of the war criminals and the cases filed in a scattered way," he said.
The state minister expressed the hope that the aggrieved persons who filed cases in a scattered way would be happy if the trial for the war criminals is started by the state and they will come forward to assist the trial by providing information.
Mentioning that the present government was determined to try the war criminals, Advocate Qamrul called upon those who lodged cases spontaneously to have patience.
