Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Saturday that authorities concerned will take steps to prevent the use of fake stickers of MPs, doctors, or journalists on vehicles, report agencies .Addressing the inauguration of Dhaka Motorbike Show 2014 at Manik Mia Avenue, the minister noted that people are violating traffic rules by using fake stickers of MPs, doctors, or journalists on their vehicles.
Mentioning that all citizens are subject to the same law of the land, he also urged the VIPs and educated people not to drive cars on the wrong side of the road in their attempts to avoid traffic jams.
The minister said that he was caught in a traffic jam on his way to the venue and had to leave the vehicle and walk a distance of one and a half kilometers to the venue, although the traffic police had suggested him to take the wrong side to avoid the jam.
In Bangladesh it is the VIPs, and not ordinary citizens, who break rules, said the minister.
He arrived more than an hour late to inaugurate Dhaka Motorbike Show 2014 at Manik Miah Avenue on Saturday.
