RAJSHAHI, Apr 5 (UNB): Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Rajshahi University (RU) Unit, enforced a strike on the campus Saturday protesting the killing of a leader and demanding arrest of the killers.

Activists of BCL took position at important points on the campus since the morning, leading to the suspension of classes and examinations in all the departments.

The university's transport facility remained halted since the morning.

Dean of the Social Science Faculty, M Ansar Uddin told UNB that all the departments of the university have suspended their classes and examinations due to the strike.

BCL RU unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana announced the strike from a rally at the Tukitaki Chattar on the campus on Friday, organised immediately after the killing of the BCL Shahid Shuhrawardy Hall unit joint-general secretary Rustom Ali.

Rustom Ali, a student of the Political Science Department, was shot dead by some miscreants in his room at the Shahid Suhrawardy Hall around 1:30 pm Friday.
