Awami League (AL) Advisory Council member Suranjit Sengupta urged on Tuesday BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to shun politics of terrorism and militancy for the sake of countrymen, reports BSS.

"Begum Zia tried to introduce a perverted face of politics but she failed, so she should discard terrorism, militancy and Jamaat to return to the path of democracy," he said.

Suranjit Sengupta, a senior parliamentarian of the ruling Awami League, said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on 'current politics' at Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh auditorium in the city.

Bangabandhu Academy (BA) organised the discussion with its adviser Dr Khondokar Emdadul Huq Selim in the chair.

AL leader Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and Shamyabadi Dal central leader Haroon Chowdhury, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

AL leader said none should make any comment on the rights of participating in election as it is the subject of the constitution, Election Commission and court.
