Sutrapur SL chief held

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested an accused in the case filed over the killing of student leader Nadimul Haque Elem during last year's anti-discrimination movement, reports BSS.

The arrestee is Sarwar Uddin Ahmed Mithu (55), president of Sutrapur Thana unit of Swechchhasebak League (SL).

Based on secret information, a team of CID (Dhaka Metro South) conducted a drive in early hours of Monday and arrested him in his Narinda Road residence under Gandaria Police Station in the capital, said Jashim Uddin Khan, Special Super of Police (Media) CID on Tuesday noon.

On July 19 last year, Nafimul Hoque alias Elem, a former student of Sheikh Borhanuddin College , was shot dead near Patla Khan Lane adjacent to Kabi Nazrul College in Old Dhaka.
