Afroza Abbas, wife of BNP-backed mayoral candidate Mirza Abbas, said on Sunday that they would accept the results whatever it might be.

"If the election is free and fair, and if the media and people say that the elections are free and fair, then we will accept the results," she told the journalists on the concluding day of her electioneering at Sideshwari in the city.

She called upon the voters to go to polling centres earlier and cast votes for the symbol mug tomorrow (Tuesday).

She later visited Fakirapool, Arambagh, Motijheel, Dilkusha and other adjoining areas and distributed leaflets to the people and called upon them to elect Mirza Abbas.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral candidate Tabith Awal said on the day that the people were eagerly waiting to elect him.

"Voters are eagerly waiting to elect me," he told the journalists while electioneering in Mohakhali and Tejgaon and some other areas on the day. He called upon the people to cast their votes for the symbol bus on April 28.
