President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) Prof Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury said on Tuesday there is no instance of resolving any political crisis without discussions and termed the war to overcome the crisis as the second option, reports UNB.

He came up with the remarks at a discussion on 'Free Journalism, Jeopardised Humanity and Restoration of Democracy' organised by Bangladesh Mufassil Sangbadik Foundation at the National Press Club in the city.

He noted that even Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had sat in discussion with the Pakistani government before the Liberation War.

"No initiative is in sight for holding a dialogue although there's no warlike situation in the country," he added.

Claiming that democracy was buried in the country with the January-5 election, he said, "I don't know when democracy would be restored in the country."

The BDB chief also disapproved of the current strategy of BNP's movement, saying the party should continue a peaceful movement to restore democracy that has been 'killed' by Awami League.
