The by-election to Tangail-4 constituency will be held on October 28, reports UNB.
The constituency fell vacant following the resignation of former minister Abdul Latif Siddique from parliament.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced the polls schedule at a press conference at the Election Commission Secretariat on Tuesday.
According to the election schedule, the deadline for the submission of nomination papers is September 30 while the date for the scrutiny of the nomination papers is October 3 and the last date for the withdrawal of candidature is October 11.
The parliamentary seat-133 (Tangail-4) remains vacant since September 1 as sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddique quit his parliament membership on September 1.
The former Posts and Telecommunications Minister was dropped from the cabinet and stripped off his membership of the ruling Awami League in October last year amid a wave of criticisms following his derogatory remarks on hajj and Tabligh Jamaat in the USA last year.
