Tarique Rahman summoned by Habiganj courts

HABIGANJ, Dec 24 (UNB): Two separate courts summoned Wednesday BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman for his disparaging remarks about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Rashid Ahmed Milon, Judge of the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Cognizance-1, passed the order following a defamation case filed by Mahibur Rahman Mahi, organising secretary of district unit Chhatra League Wednesday.
Besides, Kamal Ahmed, Judge of the Judicial Magistrate Court Cognizance-4 also issued summon against Tarique Rahman when Advocate Asaduzzaman Khan Tuhin, former vice-president of district unit Chhatra League filed another defamation case against him for his disparaging remarks about Bangabandhu.
Earlier, Judge of the Senior Judicial Magistrate Rashid Ahmed Milon Tuesday dismissed a sedition case filed against BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman for his derogatory remarks about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Meanwhile, two defamation cases were filed against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in Jhalakathi and Rajshahi for the same reason.
