Tarique sends legal notice to Hasan Mahmud

BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday sent a legal notice to Awami League publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud giving him two weeks’ time to prove that he has deposited money in Swiss Bank. Barrister Kaiser Kamal sent the legal notice through a courier service and also by a regular mail on behalf of Tarique, staying in London. Kaiser said Mahmud on Tuesday said Tarique has money in Swiss Bank. “His remark is false and baseless and it has defamed Tarique.” He also threatened Mahmud with legal actions in an appropriate court, if he does not retract the statement and seek apology during the given time, according to a news agency.
