Taskforce to stop polythene production soon

The government would immediately form a taskforce that would work to stop the production of polythene for protecting the environment, reports UNB.
State Minister for Environment Hasan Mahmud said this at a press briefing at his office Sunday when he also revealed various government decisions concerning the environment.
He said 21 more environment directorates would be set up in the district level and additional 468 people would be recruited to different posts of the directorates.
Presently, the Directorate of Environment remains at divisional headquarters only, he said.
