Criticising the current government for what he said its extreme repressive acts, BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas Monday said they will oust this 'monster regime' through a strong movement, reports UNB.
"The current government is monster government. Today, people cannot express their opinion. We can raise our voice nowhere - neither at our home nor outside. The entire country has been turned into a prison with the wholesale arrest of opposition leaders and activists in false cases," he said.
The BNP leader was addressing a programme at the Jatiya Press Club arranged by Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal protesting the indecent remarks against BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman by the ruling party men.
He said no government in the past was so aggressive like the present one to suppress its opponents.
Mirza Abbas said the ruling Awami League (AL) has continued its non-stop propaganda and plot against Tarique Rahman as they could not raise potential future leader like him.
"Bangladesh won't face leadership crisis in the days to come as Tarique Rahman is ready to lead the nation. But Awami League could not create a leader like him. So, they suffer from heartburn when they hear his name," he observed.
Criticising the ruling party leaders for making indecent remarks against Tarique, the BNP leader said AL men got unnerved as the BNP senior vice chairman recently brought some historical facts and documents in the limelight on the Liberation War.
