State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has said the traumatic memories and physical pain he experienced during alleged inhuman torture at the 'Aynaghar' during the previous Awami League government's tenure continue to affect him, reports BSS.
He stated that the suffering remains with him and is often deeply felt, at times disrupting his ability to carry out routine work.
He shared this painful and harrowing experience of his life while addressing the closing session of a workshop organised by the National Mass Media Commission at a hotel in the capital on Thursday.
Speaking emotionally, State Minister Yasser Khan said, "The brutal torture inflicted on me at the 'Aynaghar' during the tenure of the previous fascist government continues to torment me with both physical and mental suffering."
Yasser Khan also said a democratic government has been established in the country after a bloody revolution and struggle.
Specific suggestions are needed on how to uphold this democracy and how the media can be a companion and collaborator in this development journey of the government, he said.
Leading media personalities, senior journalists, stakeholders, and senior officials of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including its secretary, attended the workshop.
