Trial against Moudud to continue: HC

April 09, 2019 00:00:00

The High Court (HC) has cleared way for continuation of trial in a corruption case against BNP leader Moudud Ahmed, reports UNB.

Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice SM Kuddus Zaman rejected Moudud's petition to stay proceedings of the case that accuses him of having undisclosed property of Tk 73.8 million and hiding wealth information of Tk 44 million.

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case on September 16, 2007 with Gulshan thana.

Former law minister Moudud stood for himself while Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC.

Charges were framed against the BNP leader on June 21 last year. Moudud moved the HC last month to have the trial proceedings stayed.
