The High Court (HC) Monday stayed the trial proceedings on the graft cases against former lawmakers of BNP Mosaddek Ali Falu and MA Hashem for six months, reports BSS.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Dastagir Hossain and Justice Md Raisuddin issued the orders on two separate petitions seeking quashment of the charges against them.
The court also issued rule on the authorities concerned asking to show cause why the prayers seeking quashment should not be granted.
The Anti-corruption Commission lodged the cases against them during the immediate past Caretaker Government bringing allegation of concealing information about their property in the wealth statements submitted to the commission and amassing wealth beyond their known sources of income.
