Two aides to Tarique Siddique on fresh remand

A Dhaka court has placed Chan Mia and Mohidul Islam -- the driver and caretaker, respectively, of Tarique Ahmed Siddique, the military adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on a four-day fresh remand, reports bdnews24.com.

Metropolitan Magistrate Al Biruni Meer passed the order on Friday after the investigators produced them before court following their initial four-day stint in police custody.

The suspects were arrested on April 19. Mohidul was detained in Thakurgaon and Chan Mia in the capital's Vashantek. They were first remanded on April 20.Inspector Md Amjad Hossain Talukder of the DMP's Detective Branch (DB) sought a fresh seven-day remand.
