Two bombs explode at DU

Two bombs exploded near the Pocket Gate of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall at Dhaka University on Monday morning.
Besides, Shahbagh police recovered six more unexploded bombs from Kazi Motaher Hossain Building on the campus. During the explosion, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), a banned organisation, took out a sudden procession from Katabon to Shahbagh areas.
DU Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed said, "When our team received information about the explosion in front of the Law Faculty (Kazi Motaher Hossain building), we informed the Shahbagh Police Station. Later, the Bomb Disposal Unit recovered the bombs from the spot."
The bombs were hidden inside two food packets, said the proctor, adding that an investigation is ongoing in this regard. He believes that BCL is behind the explosion.
Officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station Khalid Mansur said that the BCL procession lasted only for about 30 seconds. They, however, dispersed following a police chase.
