Two-day prog on birthday of Zia

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a two-day programme, marking the 88th birth anniversary of the party's founder and former president Ziaur Rahman tomorrow (Friday).

To this end, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi talked to the media at a briefing at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday.

He said the party's flag would be hoisted at the central and other district offices.

Mr Rizvi said a discussion would be held in the auditorium of the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh at Ramna in the city at 2:00 pm today (Thursday).

Standing committee members, leaders and activists of the nationalist party will offer fateha and place wreaths on the grave of Zia in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Friday.
