Two held for firing on BCL leader: two firearms recovered

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Saturday night arrested two people for their alleged involvement in firing on a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in the city's New Market area, reports UNB.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-2 raided Baddanagar area under Hazaribagh thana and arrested Ahsanul Farid alias Rony (35), for firing on BCL president of Lalbagh thana unit Sagar Ahmed Shahin.
According to his confessional statement, RAB arrested Mohammad Pappu from his residence at Nawabganj lane at about 9.00 pm.
They also recovered a revolver and a pistol used in the firing along with 237 rounds of bullet from the residence of Pappu.
Miscreants shot and injured Sagar Ahmed Shahin in the city's Dhanmondi area on August 27.
