Two Jubo Dal, JCD leaders held in Khulna, B'baria

KHULNA, July 4 (UNB): The joint forces arrested a Jubo Dal leader from a house in the city on charge of corruption Monday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint forces arrested former Khulna City Jubo Dal General Secretary Tariqul Islam from the house at Trunk Road at about 5:00 pm.
Later, he was handed over to the local police. The police said, he was wanted in a number of extortion and other criminal cases.
In Brahmanbaria, the police arrested Nabinagar Upazila Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Vice President Farruk Ahmed Monday from Bholachang area of Brahmanbaria Pourashava for allegedly grabbing government land.
The police said, he was arrested following a case filed against him by local Tahsilder for grabbing government land near Bholachang Siddheshwari Temple. A case was filed against him under Emergency Powers Rules.
UNB Sylhet correspondent adds: The police arrested a young man along with a firearm from Majumdharichar area in Chhatak Upazila of Sunamganj district Monday.
On secret information, police raided the area at noon and arrested Kamal Ahmed (22) along with a revolver.
