Two \\\'militants\\\' held in city

Detectives arrested two suspected militants, including the commander of a newly formed Islamic jihadi group, from Mohammadpur area in the city on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Three foreign made pistols, 16 rounds of bullets and explosives were recovered from their possessions.

The arrestees are Md Asaduzzaman alias Milon alias Milo alias Abdullah alias Anik, commander of newly formed jihadi group 'Bangladesh Jihadi Group" and Firoz Md Tamal, a major financer of the jihadi group.

Briefing reporters at DMP media centre on Thursday, Joint Commissioner (DB) Monirul Islam said tipped-off, a special DB team conducted a drive at Mohammadia housing of Mohammadpur at about 5:00 pm and arrested the two militants.
