Two RU teachers among 13 indicted for torching DGFI car during violence

RAJSHAHI, Sep 18 (UNB): A court here Tuesday framed charge against 13 persons, including two teachers of Rajshahi University (RU), for burning a DGFI car on the campus amid a turmoil on August 22 in a sequel to the violent incidents at Dhaka University (DU).
Judge of the Speedy Tribunal Fazlul Karim Chowdhury framed the charge against the two teachers of Geology and Mining Department -- Sabbir Sattar Tapu and Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan Sajal -- RU Public Relations Officer Sadiqul Islam, student Ataur Rahman and nine others.
The teachers, the RU officer and student Ataur Rahman are now in jail while the nine are on the run.
Matihar thana SI Muktar Hossain filed the case against them on August 23 following the campus violence across the country. Charge-sheet in the case was also submitted on September 2.
