RANGAMATI, May 18 (BSS): Two members of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) were shot dead in a presumed attack by rivals at Langadu upazila of the hilly district on Saturday, police said.
The law enforces identified the slain persons as Bidya Dhan Chakma alias Tilok, 45, and Dhanyamoni Chakma, 35.
They were shot to death in an attack supposed to be carried out by their rivals in Bhaledi Ghat area of the upazila at 09:00 am, said Officer-in-Charge of Langadu Thana Md Harunur Rashid.
The security has been beefed up in the area, he said.
UPDF Rangamati District Unit Organiser Shachal Chakma, however, blamed the Shantu Larma-led Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS) for the attack.
