State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku Tuesday said the evil forces were still active to foil the development projects of the present government, reports BSS. Urging the pro-liberation forces to unite against anti-liberation forces, he said, "We must resist the evil forces trying to create unrest and anarchy in the name of anti-government movements like road-march and hartal across the country." The state minister was inaugurating Sheikh Russel Smrity Footbal Tournament at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital as the chief guest. Sheikh Russel Sporting Club organised the programme with president of the Club Nurul Alam Chowdhury in the chair. Among others, Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation Badol Ray and General Secretary Ismat Jamil Akanda (Lavlu) spoke on the occasion. Shamsul Haque Tuku recalled the fateful incident of August 15, 1975 when the schoolboy Sheikh Russel was killed along with the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and others. "After the assassination of Bangabandhu, the then government rehabilitated the identified killers through indemnity ordinance," he mentioned, adding "after a long gap, the people resisted them through ballots and the killers were tried at last." About the development in sports sector, Tuku said, "Sheikh Hasina's government is providing all cooperation to develop country's sports." "Sheikh Hasina's government has a lot of contributions to the development of sports", he added. Shamsul Haque called upon all to strengthen the hands of Sheikh Hasina to build a country free from militancy, terrorism and narcotics.
