UN's resident coordinator calls on Speaker

United Nations (UN) resident coordinator Gwyn Lewis on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the latter's JS office in the city, reports BSS.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues such as Bangladesh government's endeavor

in handling COVID-19, the stable economic situation of post-COVID Bangladesh, women's empowerment and socio-economic development and gender budget, a press release said.

Appreciating the unprecedented development of Bangladesh, Lewis said that the present government played due role in dealing with the recent flood situation in Bangladesh.
