UP chairman gets six months' jail for possessing Yaba

LAXMIPUR, May 14 (UNB): A mobile court sentenced a chairman of Laharkandi Union Parishad (UP) in Sadar upazila to six months imprisonment for taking and possessing Yaba tablets.
The convict is Mosharef Hossain Moshu Patwary, also a BNP leader.
A team of the elite force raided the office of Mosharef and arrested him along with 5 pieces of Yaba tablets around 10:30pm.
Later, he was produced before a mobile court led by executive magistrate Md Khabirul Ahsan which awarded him the jail term.
