MAGURA, Apr 13 (UNB): A Union Parishad chairman was shot and wounded by unknown assailants at Nakole village in Sripur Upazila Sunday night.
The police quoting villagers said three criminals intercepted Mohammad Shahjahan Mia (42), chairman of Nakole Union Parishad, and fired on him at 11:30pm when he was returning home after a local arbitration.
The injured chairman was first admitted to the Sadar Hospital and later shifted to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
