Upazila chairman, UNO file cases against each other

KHULNA, Dec 25 (UNB): Botiaghata Upazila chairman and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) field cases against each other here Friday following a row over evicting a club-house from a Khas land.
The police said UNO Kamruzzaman and Assistant Tahsilder Sahidul Islam came to Sharapat village Thursday afternoon and pressed some local youths to evict the club-house.
Upazila Chairman Ashraful Alam and Amirpur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Hazzat Ali also appeared on the scene and tried to settle the issue.
At one stage, Mr Ashraful locked into an altercation with the UNO and the Tahsilder.
