US Ambassador Brent T. Christensen said the Bangladesh-US relationship is built on strong military cooperation and close ties between the people of both countries, reports BSS.

He said music helps bring the two countries closer together because it connects people regardless of language or culture.

Speaking at a joint concert by the Bangladesh Air Force Band and the US Army's 25th Infantry Division "Tropic Lightning" Band in the capital on Thursday, he said military musicians are like diplomats because they communicate through music, which everyone can understand.

The concert was part of the US Embassy's "Freedom 250 America Week" celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The ambassador thanked the Bangladesh Air Force for hosting the event and said he was pleased to take part in the joint performance with a valued partner.

Referring to the Air Force Museum as an ideal venue, Christensen said the setting itself symbolised the close partnership between the air forces of the two countries.

He said the collaboration between the Bangladesh Air Force Band and the US Army's 25th Infantry Division Band reflected the strong relationship that exists between the two militaries.
