An international war crimes tribunal concluded on Tuesday the hearing of arguments from both sides on the trial of 1971 war crimes allegedly committed by three men of Bagerhat and kept its verdict pending for any day, reports UNB.
The accused war criminals are Sheikh Sirajul Islam, Abdul Latif Talukder and Khan Akram Hossain.
After hearing the law-point arguments from both the prosecution and the defence lawyers on Tuesday, the three-member of ICT-1, led by its chairman Justice M Enayetur Rahim, passed the order in presence of the accused.
Prosecution lawyers Barrister Syed Saidul Haque and Mushfique Kabir presented their arguments during the hearing while Advocate Abul Ahsan and Barrister M Sarwar Hossain argued for the defendants.
The trio suspected Razakars are facing seven charges, including killing, mass killing, torture and arson attack, during the Liberation War.
The tribunal framed charges against the three accused on November 05, 2014, for their involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
Police arrested accused Khan Akram Hossain, Abdul Latif Talukder and Sheikh Sirajul Islam on June 03, June 11 and July 21 respectively.
