The Election Commission (EC) has started updating the voter list in the capital city, including the cantonment board, on Monday, reports UNB.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad at a press briefing at the EC Media Centre said Sunday that the enumerators would go for door-to-door data collection until September 10, while the photographs and fingerprints of possible voters will be taken in each voter registration centre from September 18.
The CEC said the commission has estimated that there will be a five per cent growth in the number of voters in the city on completion of the updating exercise.
